He developed a passion for singing at a younger age and learned to sing in church where he sang in the church choir.

At the age of 13, Childers started to play guitar and write songs and has since then been consistent throughout his career.

His music, influenced by his home state of Kentucky and its connection to country music and bluegrass is a mix of neotraditional country, bluegrass, and folk.
